Tim Tebow Testifies at Hearing on the Creation of a Child Rescue Team

He urges Congress to address child sex abuse material.

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow testified before a congressional hearing on Wednesday, encouraging the legislators in attendance to pass a bill creating a rescue team for sexually abused children. He spoke to the House Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance, representing the Tim Tebow Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting vulnerable children.

“To sum it up, we strive to fight for people who can’t fight for themselves,” Tebow said after his opening statement.

Reading out loud an emotional letter written to the foundation by a young victim of sexual abuse, Tebow told the subcommittee members that passing this law to form a rescue team was necessary to make a difference.

“If all we do today is speak, all I do is speak, I also missed the mark. We have to do more than just talk about it. We have to act on it and be about it,” Tebow said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the House subcommittee as they consider the testimony of Tim Tebow and other child advocates.
  • For U.S. officials to be led by the Lord as they seek to protect children vulnerable to exploitation and sexual abuse.
